The extra year of eligibility doesn't make a ton of sense for me, but what do I know? Yes I would've loved march madness this year, but for the vast majority of players they missed out on playing a few games and still had very full seasons otherwise. Oh well, not the end of the world but surely will cause havoc with scholarship tables and projecting schollies.

I'm just sitting back and waiting to see how it all plays out because between all of the announcements and subsequent clarifications from the media, I don't know what to expect. I think the NCAA is trying to do the right thing by the student athletes in a once in a century situation, but I have a feeling we'll be feeling the law of unintended consequences down the line.

Remember all student athletes are not 'stars", this program if I understand it will allow students to have the extra year, which could be used for additional education, kind of a bonus.

If I were a mid or low major recruit with a current offer from a school l liked, I'd accept it asap. Scout, High Point got a commitment from a kid who obviously took your advice. My understanding from someone close to the situation is that he was planning on waiting to make his decision, but the NCAA transfer rule pushed him to make his decision while the offer was still there.

Pink is listed as a Sophomore, perhaps a surprise that he didn't actually redshirt last year?

Pink is listed as a Sophomore, perhaps a surprise that he didn't actually redshirt last year? Whatever they call him, he didn't play last year, so he has 4 (or now 5) years of eligiblity left.

Suppose you played 2019 and 2020 at a school, then transferred. Your new school is seeking a waiver for immediate eligibility, in which case you normally would play in 2021 and 2022, or if denied, you'd sit 2021 and play in 2022 and 2023. With the extra year, how does that work? If you get a waiver, you can now play in 2021, 2022, and 2023. But if you don't get the waiver, do you get to play in 2022, 2023, and 2024? Or just 2022 and 2023? I'm guessing now the former, but it's not clear to me.

I think it's an attempt to do right by these kids, certainly some will "job" the system, transfers and waivers, and extended eligibility. But as I said because this could be used as a "tool" for the players to playing into post graduate educations. Where it gets strange is at JC's where I think a player can get a third year, at a 2 year school, I would think that most JC players finish their AA in 2 years, so would they be playing their 3 year and not going to class or taking non credit classes?

Only two assistants listed....Mike Davis Jr and Tracy Dildy. Did other coach resign? Might be good time to bring in a Detroit guy.

I don't see Legree listed anywhere (plus he's no longer on the website roster either). I wonder if it's Covid related issue (opting out due to health concerns?), a financial issue (no fans mean less $, so maybe they had to cut back?) or he just left for greener pastures EDIT - it appears Legree left to coach Statesboro HS in Georgia, his alma mater www.wjcl.com/article/statesboro-great-keith-legree-to-lead-blue-devil-basketball/34331161#

In AD's bio, it lists him as a walk-on

In AD's bio, it lists him as a walk-on I think that results from sloppy editing and proofreading. It's a holdover from his freshman year when he was a walk-on.
