I agree with the Upper Peninsula. We haven’t had that kind of size and experience. A big factor is how some players come back from injuries. IMO, the key player is Tovar….score, rebound, defense. Also need Fuller to clear waivers…..he can be a key factor in backcourt. Like Davis stated, if they buy in, but that is his job! Looks like a lot of strength and power.we haven’t had this inside potential in a long time.

Only one player in this class...besides Hurst averaged doubled digit points in scoring (Mak Manciel) and he did that at the D2 Juco level. I hope I'm wrong and UP and LT are right.

I don’t know if that metric works anymore. Same could be said of Kuol, Alec, Stone, Anderson. I have no idea what to expect from this class.

Official announcement of 6 transfers. Fuller and Toatley not included. That is a terrible recruiting class. It is certainly a class marked by meager production at previous stops. Our hope is that some players play above expectations and we get more Kuols, Akecs, and Stones than we get Syllas, Thompsons, and Oduros. My concern is that for the first time in five years we don't have a recognized high level offensive threat to draw defenses and bring about opportunities for other players. It's easier to score when the defense is heavily focused on someone else. Do we have enough guys who are going to step up and consistently score without benefiting from playing alongside a big time player? We'll see. We do appear to have added some experienced size. Jay, Alex, Emmanuel, and Oton will make us look better in the airport, at least. I am glad that they got a bunch of guys in relatively early, so that there is time to get them playing and practicing together during the summer. Go Titans.

Maybe I was a little harsh. I hope the new Titans play well.

This is MD's first class since he got here without AD, I guess we'll see if he can still coach.

The cold hard facts would seem to indicate this is a team that could struggle, but I know we are both hoping that they exceed expectations. It seems like more and more, U-D has become a more difficult place for recruiting. In addition to the local talent pool becoming more shallow, the program itself doesn't have a lot to make it more attractive than some of the other options out there. Old facilities, a long stretch of losing, very little fan support, etc. Winning would help, but it seems like we are going to be depending more on finding diamonds in the rough than landing those "sure thing" recruits we'd like to get.

Milwaukee and Cleveland State brought in several similar players last year and exceeded pre-season fears/expectations. The HL can be like the Island of Misfit toys. I can always hope that this group of players can play good man-to-man defense and will win the close ones. Last year, we chased stats. This year, I hope we chase W's. With some luck on eligibility, injuries, and the bounces of the ball, this year, we could exceed expectations.

Are Phillips and Moss still hanging out in the transfer portal? Is there any interest in them from anyone?
Is Stone in summer school or has he returned to Australia?
I think our recruiting woes are a direct result of a low energy approach by our staff. A head coach who hardly leaves campus,; assistants selected from the good old boys club and a son who follows Dad from job to job. All it would take is one young, hungry assistant with local ties to boost the recruiting picture. There is no reason why Youngstown, Cleveland, Wright State should out recruit us.
I look forward to coach Davis moving on.

I poor workman always blames his tools, there are many schools with worst facilities then Detroit, and there are many worst cities and schools that never get players a look by the NBA.
Look no further than St Peters run a few years ago. UDM need new a new and fresher face on it's men's basketball program.

Let’s give Davis two years without having to coach his son.

UP, Barcari wasn't my first pick....................my guess is he'll have the job as long as he wants it.
