Didn't Hofstra stupidly change their nickname to the pride (as in lions) a few years ago? Yes. But this forum doesn't recognize the change.

Wright State blows a 15 point first half lead (10 point lead at halftime) and loses to another Founding Father, James Madison by a score of 78-76. Immediately, the fans in Moon Township, PA get their hopes up for a conference win.

Oakland wins again, this time over Rice 76 to 73. They'll be in the Championship game of the Gulf Coast Showcase They are just taking care of business, racking up tidy D1, bigger school wins. I’ll admit I gaze up the road to 89 Mile or wherever Auburn Hills is with a tinge of jealously.

I’ll admit I gaze up the road to 89 Mile or wherever Auburn Hills is with a tinge of jealously. I'm glad someone admitted it before me. I'm a U of D alum, a die hard fan of the Titans and I feel like I live on this message board, but I hate the years of losing and I hate the situation we're in right now. The team at Livernois and McNichols is starting to lose me. That's hard to say and I'm just tired of excuses, unprepared teams, ineligible players, loss after loss, reloading every year, broken promises - in short, the direction of our program (which seems to be just the opposite of the team up north, which has not only passed us, but seemingly left us in the dust)

Horizon I know I sound like a broken record, but I'm really surprised at how bad the Horizon has been this year in non-conference play.
Oakland 76, Rice 73. OU (4-2) remains the league's bright spot, beating CUSA member Rice (4-2) tonight behind 25 points from Trey Townsend. Jalen Moore iced the win by making a pair of free throws with one tick left on the clock.
James Madison 78, Wright State 76. As others have noted, the Raiders (1-4) blew a big lead and fell again.
Bowling Green 82, Milwaukee 68. There's nothing special about this BGSU team (they lost to Western Carolina and Norfolk State), and they handled Patrick Baldwin and Milwaukee without too much difficulty, leading by double figures for the final 13:40.
IUPUI 61, Spalding 41. It took a D-3 opponent to do the trick, but IUPUI (1-5) got into the win column.
Titan Non-Conference Opponents Bellarmine 76, Central Michigan 69.
Toledo 68, Tulane 67. The Rockets (4-1) held off a late rally from Ray McCallum's team. JT Shumate led with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Kent State 77, George Washington 69. Sincere Carry--his real name--scored 20 for Kent (3-1).
Elsewhere in College Hoops
#1 Gonzaga 83, #2 UCLA 63. Does this count as Mid-Major Win of the Day? Nah, not any more. But still darned impressive.
Wisconsin 65, #12 Houston 63. Wisconsin scored the game's first 13 points, and then held on. Johnny Davis socred 30 for the Badgers (4-1).
#13 Arkansas 73, Cincinnati 67. A close, exciting late game overshadowed by the Zags/Bruins match-up, which was not nearly as good a game. Michigan transfer David DeJulius had 24 in a losing cause.
#14 Illinois 72, Kansas State 64.
Northwestern 78, Georgia 62. Virginia 58, Providence 40. Texas A&M 57, Butler 50.
Norfolk State 95, Regent 20. North Carolina Central 110, Warren Wilson 32. A couple of MEAC teams had fun beating up D-3 teams. MEAC teams get beat up playing a lot of road games against P6 teams--they deserve some fun of their own. Now where Regent and Warren Wilson go for easy wins, I don't know.
St Mary's 62, Oregon 50. St. Mary's (6-0) followed up last night's win over Notre Dame by taking down Oregon (3-2).
Mid-Major Win of the Day: Florida Gulf Coast 67, Rhode Island 66. FGCU (3-2) came back from 14 down to nip the Rams (4-2) on a pair of Tavion Dunn-Martin free throws with 3 seconds to play. Dunn-Martin finished with 26 points.

Horizon League games today, November 24th.
Oakland vs Delaware at 7:30 pm for the Gulf Coast Showcase Championship.
Yale vs Milwaukee at 11 am in the Ft. Myers Tip-Off.
Wright State vs Long Beach State at 12 noon for 7th place in the Naples Invitational.
GSC Scouting Delaware has Jameer Nelson, Jr on the roster. His father, the former St. Joe's guard, is the Assistant GM of the Delaware G League team. The Blue Hens are not a very good 3-point shooting team. Allen is their only good 3-point shooter at 48%. They drive the hoop and look to get fouled. They take two-thirds of their shots from inside the arc where they shoot 60%. They have a strong post player in Painter who is 6'10" 235 and shooting 70% from the floor. But OU's zone will make it hard to post him up. They are shooting 81% FTs as a team. IMO, this plays right into Oakland's strength with their 1-3-1 match-up zone. Delaware gives up 3's at a 42% rate versus 33% made. They also get outrebounded. Delaware's wins are at Siena by 20, home vs LaSalle by 3 in OT, App. State (+7) and Fordham (+10) at the GCS. There is no excuse for OU not winning this game and by double digits.

I'm actually more jealous of where our program used to be not that long ago, but OU is definitely well ahead of us right now. No denying that.

No shame in losing to Long Beach State. They were a powerhouse program in the early 70's.

Jerry Tarkanian was the Long Beach State coach from 1968-73.
