A 5-7 team is not considered bowl eligible in college football. However, if there are not enough bowl eligible teams, a 5-7 team may be offered a vacant spot as an exception. They're selected based on the highest Academic Progress Rate (APR). Agree... as the bowl schedule is also embarrassing at this point. That said, the point is that even in the current bowl selection process, a 5-7 team cannot be bypassed in favor of a 4-8 team. The point is that there are team standards incorporated... even if the standards drop every year. I bet if the SEC put some pressure on a bowl game and the NCAA they would put a 4-8 SEC team in ahead of a 5-7 MAC team.

Maravich's record has stood for more than 50 years, so we can expect to see Antione's name in the top two of all time for decades and decades. And atop many Horizone League records probably forever.
Those of us on the board who are true Titan fans can take appreciate what Antoine accomplished and take pride in how he has represented Detroit Mercy. Thanks, AD!!

It may sound corny but I would hang a banner with the Maravich's points and showing AD #2 all time. We get a two-fer of recognizing AD and also showing he's among one of the best all time, and in fact just a missed shot or two away from being ahead. It should be incorporated somehow into his banner in the rafters, for sure.

AD should get a display in that area to showcase his achievement.

When AD becomes one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA, everyone will refer to him as the NCAA 3-point King. That’s incredibly colossal.

In the meantime, they will display a carboard cutout picture of 3,664 glo-balls in front of the closed gift shop.

This is an area where the new President, that is not so new anymore, can make a difference. One phone call from him will get those drawing moving. It will not cost a penny, just make the call. My experience with facilities is they are like an IT department. There first answer is "we can't". They can and do if a fire is lit under them.

Sarcasm directed at how things have been done at UDM up until now. Like you, I hope that Dr. Taylor makes a big difference. I'm encouraged given how quickly he acted to permit us to play in the postseason if we had been invited. And given how he got involved to break the internal university inertia that had kept Liddell from playing in November. And how we are likely to have a branding change in the near future. I'm hoping to see some things start moving forward after he is formally inaugurated this coming Friday.

"Brandin Change In The Near Future"........do you mean perhaps no more Mercy? Based on anecdotal reports Taylor is “not a fan of ‘Detroit Mercy’”as a brand and is inclined to take a fresh look at the University’s branding and marketing strategy. That said, we’ve been around this block a few times before regarding branding generally and specific to Titan athletics, so we’ll see what if anything materializes.

"Brandin Change In The Near Future"........do you mean perhaps no more Mercy? I do not think the formal name of the university will change. But I do hope our short form branding will return to something sounding more like a university and less like a hospital. The window of opportunity for the Detmer brothers may be closing.

Isn't Brandin Change a small forward prospect from a high school in Pennsylvania?

That's good, just a missed key strike.

That is correct, sam.
