If the PS8 was already approved by the ncaa, it would not require getting a new tournament sanctioned. I think it’s almost impossible to happen though, as most teams not in the ncaa or NIT or CBI have quit practicing and have had players hit the portal.

Could be a Vegas 16 situation? Maybe the PS4? How many do we need? The PS2?

Two teams. Just us and Florida A&M. Best of 7 game series.

If the organizers can attract a minimum of 4 teams (2 game guarantee) and have an ‘inaugural’ tournament next weekend, the PR of having AD breaking Pistol Pete’s record is priceless. The question is this real OR wishful thinking?

What this would be is taking a legitimate opportunity to break the NCAA scoring record (CBI) and turning it into a truly bush-league attempt to manufacture a record.
This would be shameful and nobody should be in favor of it. If we're going to create a tournament... why not make it quadruple elimination so we can get the points way up there?
Yeah... I know... Pistol Pete once played in the NIT, so it's the same.

Charlotte wins the CBI. A team we beat by 21 at home and lost in OT by 2 on their court.

The Titan WBB team was champs of the “Women's Basketball Invitational” in 2013, this tournament is not affiliated with the similarly named College Basketball Invitational. From Wiki: “Although the WBI shares a similar name with the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) and fills a similar role (a postseason tournament outside the auspices of the NCAA and NIT tournaments), the two competitions are operated by separate organizations and are unrelated except for the coincidental name.”

Charlotte wins the CBI. A team we beat by 21 at home and lost in OT by 2 on their court. What a slap in the face. The University needs to get it act together. It has been way to many times players can't play because of ineligibility that leads back to transfer issues. This paper ineligibility needs to be fixed today. We have to many guys sitting on the sidelines not playing a full season. How many transfers we don't even know about that left or didn't sign up with us because of this issue. How many times do we get hit with grade issues to? Why is no one tracking these problems through the season to get ahead of the problem. If this team was full eligible to play from the beginning to the end of the season do you really think are season would of played out the same way? I highly doubt it. We can all agree or disagree with the coaching staff all day long but as long as the University is causing interference on the program we are not going to get the results we all can agree on. The University needs to get their act together. At the end of the day how much did this cost? (We will never know). If I was the New President and this just happen in front of me, well I would need to set an example to get everyone in the mindset we are working together to push this University ahead. We are not just walking through the motions of work.

It comes down to respect, the NCAA basketball community has no respect for the UDM or U of D, If AD had played for Xavier or Georgetown, or Seton Hall, they would have been the first team picked for the CBI. The CBI is no more than an AAU tournament, they can pick whomever they want, as long as the fee is paid, and if they want you in I'm sure the fee is waived. The school's administration seems to have no respect for the basketball program, the only thing that seems to be consistent is yearly players don't get past compliance. again it doesn't seem like a yearly event at other schools.

We are not just walking through the motions of work. I have been questioning this issue for 4 years now glad to see it finally might be pushed to the surface. Why are individuals within the University employ allowed to put their personal agendas ahead of the agenda of the University. How can any department at the University be successful if individuals on their extended team are constantly undermining them?

Our OT loss at Charlotte was the only game of the year in which Antoine, Liddell, and Stone all played together.
