Proving that branding touches everything, when Jon Rothstein posted on Twitter that Davis had been fired, some smart aleck in the comments responded "NEW BLOOD AT THE HOSPITAL"I’m not even mad because that’s pretty funny (and we’ve done this to ourselves w the name stuff)

If we're going to put it up on a tee for them, you gotta expect people to take their swings.

The Davis twins, class of 2024,posted that they enjoyed their unofficial visit to "u of d". They also posted a nice pic of them in Lady Titan uniforms. Branding disaster aside, it is good to be positively mentioned on social media. This isn't necessarily branding related, but it's a positive story about someone previously mentioned here: Summer Davis, one of the twins who visited campus back in August 2019, was named Gatorade High School Player of the Year for the state of Michigan. Congratulations! She and her sister Indya committed to play their college basketball at Georgia.

This week in branding, the program was referred to during a WJR interview the following ways:
Host, starting out the interview: "University of Detroit Mercy, Detroit Mercy".
Coach Monty, during the interview: "University of Detroit, University of Detroit, Detroit". I don't think he used the M word once, but I might have missed it. That's your head coach, folks; a guy who was on staff here a couple of years ago. I don't think the absence of "Mercy" in his comments was an accident. I'll be interested in what he says tomorrow.
All in all, it was a positive interview, however.
